Monobird is one of norways best kept secrets. So far all of Monobirds releases has been keept to 30 or less copies, so if you have your hands on one of his releases, consider yourself a lucky man.  monobird writes some of the finest tunes i have ever heard. past, present and... most likely, future. Starting in a young age with the now legendary Avisguttene and later forming The Loch Ness Mouse with his brother, Ole, Jørn Åleskjær has been part of some of Norways greatest pop recordings. Epic releases like Flair for Darjeeling, Key West and 11-22 still stands unmatched in Scandinavian pop history. Jørn has written songs for bands like the Ladybug Transistor, norwegian indie poppers The Ethno Babes and The Tables. Jørn is definitely among one of our national treasures and should be considdered among the ranks of Grieg and Henrik Ibsen when future history is written. his face should be pictured on our 100kr bills. Over the years, Monobird has released an impressive amount of tracks trough Oslo Grammofon. In fact, he has recorded so many hits that the label has had a hard time keeping up with his productivity, thus leaving an album or two still unreleased, or even lost.
